2. THE CHRISTIAN ARMY VALUES

Do you know a person in the military? In your country or anywhere else? You would agree that some features strongly differentiate them from thousands of other people especially the civilians, right?

There is something called the ARMY VALUES in the military of any nation which guides the codes and conducts of each member of the force. Since our ministry, TROOPS MINISTRIES, is centred around infusing the Christian life and the military life, we shall be having a series of discussions around each value of the Army and its essence to the life of a believer.

Matthew 28:18-20

Mat 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and earth.

Mat 28:19  Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It is established that the believer in Christ is a lifelong student of the faith. The Christian faith is one such as the Army-with Christ as our commander and each believer a soldier in the army troop. It is not by lack of words that we relate Christian living to the military, it does, indeed, share similarities.

To this effect, we will be discussing and educating ourselves on essential values of the military that we can take cues from Christian living. It is indeed worthy to note that these values are not peculiar to the military, they are basic if not, really common human values which are taught to be imbibed. Yet, to the army, it is the tenet of living. It is these values or nothing.

Before we launch into these discussions of each value, we have compiled various army values from renowned armed forces around the world.

According to Statista.org (https://www.statista.com/chart/20418/most-powerful-militaries/), this is the rank of the best three military countries in the world:

1. U.S.A
2. Russia
3. China

As a result of the above, we have compiled a list of the army values that these top-ranking military forces follow in their dealings.

All familiar words that you know and try to live by, right? Yet, the soldiers seem to do them differently!
