A CALL TO PRAY.

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”__ Luke 18:1.

Dear Beloved,

Welcome to the tenth month of the year! God has been so faithful!

As we move into October, there’s a call ringing out, one that we must heed now more than ever: THE CALL TO PRAY. Jesus emphasized the importance of persistent prayer when He shared the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1: “Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”

ALWAYS PRAY, NEVER GIVE UP!

The message of this verse is simple yet powerful: prayer is not a one-time event or a backup plan—it’s a constant dialogue with God, and we are encouraged to never give up on it. In this busy, sometimes overwhelming world, it’s easy to feel defeated when our prayers seem unanswered or when situations don’t change immediately. But Jesus calls us to pray with endurance, with the confidence that God hears us.

THE POWER OF PERSISTENT PRAYERS:

To pray persistently means trusting in God’s timing and not losing heart when answers don’t come right away. Like the widow in Luke 18, we must continue to come before God with faith, knowing that He is just and loving. Prayer is not about repeating the same requests, but about nurturing our relationship with God, bringing every need, worry, and hope to Him.

WHY PRAYER SO IMPORTANT IN THIS SEASON?

In these challenging times, whether in personal struggles, academic pressures, or uncertainties, prayer is the key that unlocks peace and brings divine intervention. The widow’s persistence in her request changed her situation. Likewise, our prayers can shift circumstances, restore hope, and bring clarity in confusion. As James 5:16 reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

HOW CAN WE CULTIVATE A LIFE OF PERSISTENT PRAYER?

1. Set your heart on God’s promises: Don’t pray based on what you see in the moment; pray based on what God has promised. Stand on scriptures like Jeremiah 33:3—“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

2. Pray even when it’s hard: There will be moments when you feel too tired or discouraged to pray, but those are the moments to press in. Prayer refreshes the weary soul.

3. Stay connected with others in prayer: Join a community of believers in prayer. Whether it’s a small group or a prayer partner, sharing the load in prayer brings encouragement.

4. Make prayer part of your routine: Don’t wait for emergencies to pray. Build it into your daily life; on your way to class, while working, or during quiet moments.

SAY THIS PRAYER:

“Lord, help me to always pray and never give up. Give me the strength to seek You constantly, the patience to trust Your timing, and the faith to believe that You hear every word. Let my heart rest in Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to answer. Amen.”

As we step into this new month, let us be inspired by the widow’s persistence and Jesus’ reminder to pray continually. Whatever challenges you may face, know that God is near, listening, and ready to respond. Let us rise up in prayer, trusting that God’s answers are on the way.

Grace and peace is multiplied unto you!
